The external features of living things

The Learn About Wool resources provide an ideal opportunity for Year 1 students to investigate the external features of living things.

The following curriculum-based resource package includes a variety of interactive resources, including downloadable PDF factsheets, websites, and age-appropriate YouTube video clips.

Links with the Australian Curriculum

Students can explore the following resources to recognise the common features of sheep, such as head, legs and bodies, describe the use of sheep body parts for particular purposes, such as moving and feeding, recognise that descriptions of what we observe are used by people to help identify change, for example, farmers observe signs of illness in their sheep consider how science is used in caring for plants (pasture) and animals.
